THE ART OF EIGHT LIMBS
Muay Thai at Sitan
Muay Thai is Thailand’s national sport and one of the most effective striking arts in the world. At Sitan, we teach it the way it was taught to Coach Thiago — rooted in real lineage, built on fundamentals, and trained the way fighters actually fight. Beginners and pros train side by side, with intensity scaled to where you are.
What a class looks like
A typical class runs 60 – 75 minutes:
- Warm-up & shadowboxing — get the body moving, drill footwork and combinations
- Technique — learn or sharpen a specific skill: punches, kicks, knees, elbows, clinch
- Pad work or partner drills — apply the technique with a coach or training partner
- Conditioning — finish strong with rounds on the bag or strength work
You’ll sweat. You’ll learn something every class. You won’t be thrown into hard sparring on day one.
Who it's for
- Total beginners — no experience required. We’ll teach you stance, basic strikes, and how to move
- Fitness-focused trainees — Muay Thai is one of the best full-body workouts on the planet
- Competitors — we have an active fight team competing at national and international levels
- Anyone who wants to actually learn — not a kickboxing-cardio knockoff. Real Muay Thai.
What you'll need
For your first class, just athletic clothes and a water bottle. We’ll provide gloves. As you progress, you’ll want your own gloves, hand wraps, shin guards, and Muay Thai shorts — we can point you to what to get.
THE GENTLE ART
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at Sitan
BJJ is a martial art built on leverage, technique, and patience — where a smaller, smarter grappler can control a bigger, stronger opponent. Our program is led by Head BJJ Coach Nathan Hagberg, a black belt under Steve Rosenberg in the Gustavo Dantas lineage, with over 12 years on the mat and a long competition record.
What a class looks like
A typical class runs 60–75 minutes:
- Warm-up — movement drills, breakfalls, mobility
- Technique — a focused position or submission, broken down step by step
- Drilling — repetition with a partner to lock the technique in
- Live rolling (optional) — sparring at your own pace, scaled to your experience
You go at your speed. New students are paired carefully, and rolling is always optional until you’re ready.
Who it's for
- Total beginners — you’ll start with fundamentals and build from there
- Self-defense focused — BJJ is one of the most practical self-defense arts ever developed
- Cross-trainers — Muay Thai students who want to round out their game
- Competitors — we support students who want to enter local and national tournaments
What you'll need
For your first class, athletic clothes that cover your legs (no zippers or pockets). A gi can be loaned for your first few sessions; after that, you’ll want your own gi or no-gi gear.
